How it works
The calculator counts Monday through Friday between your two dates, inclusive of both the start and end date. It does not account for public holidays — it's a straightforward weekday count, not a holiday-aware business calendar. If your organization observes holidays in the range, subtract those days manually from the result.
business days = calendar days (inclusive of both dates) − weekend days
weekends = every Saturday and Sunday in the range
Worked example
Monday 1 June 2026 to Friday 12 June 2026, inclusive.
- Total calendar days, inclusive: 12 days.
- Weekend days in the range: Saturday 6 June and Sunday 7 June — 2 days.
- Business days: 12 − 2 = 10 days.
1–12 June 2026 has 10 business days out of 12 calendar days.
Common questions
Does this account for public holidays?
No — this calculator counts Monday through Friday only. If public holidays fall within your date range, subtract those days manually from the result.
Are both dates included in the count?
Yes — the range is inclusive of both the start date and the end date. If the start date itself is a weekday, it counts as one of the business days.
